BotaniGard ES is a robust biological insecticide designed to manage a broad spectrum of soft-bodied insects in greenhouse, field, and nursery environments. Utilizing the potent fungus, Beauveria bassiana strain GHA, it effectively targets pests such as whiteflies, thrips, aphids, and resistant varieties like Q-biotype whitefly.
Ideal for standalone use, as a tank mix partner, or as part of an insecticide rotation, BotaniGard ES employs a unique mode of action. The spores attach to the insect's outer layer, germinate, and produce enzymes that break down the cuticle, allowing the fungus to invade the insect’s body. This process culminates in the insect’s death, marked by a color change and internal fungal growth.
Registered for a wide range of crops, including ornamentals, herbs, spices, vegetables, fruits, and berries, BotaniGard ES can be applied multiple times throughout the season without restriction. Regular weekly applications can prevent pest population surges, providing control that rivals or surpasses chemical insecticides.
BotaniGard ES stands out with its high spore concentration, delivering superior insect control and supporting resistance management efforts. It is cost-effective, targeting early insect stages and minimizing the need for emergency treatments. The product's safety profile is excellent, making it safe for workers and the environment.
Certified for organic production (OMRI Listed as Mycotrol ESO) and exempt from residue tolerance, BotaniGard ES has a 0-day pre-harvest interval and a 4-hour re-entry interval (REI). It can be seamlessly integrated into tank mixes with various pesticides, enhancing its versatility in integrated pest management programs.
For best results, apply BotaniGard ES at the first sign of pest presence. Regular applications every 7 days can keep pest populations under control, while more frequent applications (every 3-5 days) may be necessary during severe infestations. Ensure thorough coverage and proper suspension of spores before application to maximize effectiveness.
