ANCORA® is a naturally occurring fungal insecticide that effectively targets both foliage and soil-dwelling pests. It contains Isaria fumosorosea Apopka Strain 97, a fungus native to the United States, with 20% active ingredient and 1 x 109 CFU/gram. This microbial insecticide controls various insect and mite pests on vegetables, fruits, ornamental plants, and more, grown in greenhouses, nurseries, and other covered structures.
GENERAL INFORMATION
ANCORA’s blastospores germinate upon application, penetrating and infecting insects, leading to their death within several days. The product is especially effective when relative humidity is 80% or higher, and it is compatible with beneficial arthropods, making it a natural fit for Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs.
PRODUCT APPLICATION TIPS
• Apply at the first sign of pest activity to prevent outbreaks.
• Spray with sufficient water to ensure good coverage.
• Mix ANCORA with water in a separate container before final dilution.
• Agitate for 2-3 minutes, then let it stand for 20-30 minutes before use.
• Use a funnel with a 100 mesh screen to filter the solution when decanting into the spray tank.
• Store in its original unopened package at 40° to 50°F, and use any remaining product within 30 days of opening.
ADVANTAGES OF ANCORA
• Controls spider mites, thrips, and other pests.
• Broad-spectrum activity on both foliar and soil-dwelling insects.
• Labeled for use on herbs and vegetables.
• 4-hour REI (Restricted Entry Interval).
• Compatible with beneficial arthropods.
• Natural fit with IPM programs.
MODE OF ACTION
Upon contact, ANCORA’s fungal spores germinate, pierce through the insect cuticle, and cause infection, resulting in insect death within 3 to 5 days.
USE SITES
ANCORA can be used in greenhouses, shadehouses, nurseries, and other covered structures. It is effective on various crops, including bedding plants, cut flowers, foliage, herbs, spices, nursery stock, melons, shrubs, strawberries, and vegetables.
TARGET PESTS CONTROLLED
Foliar Application:
Aphids, leafminers, mealybugs, plant bugs, psyllids, spider mites, thrips, whiteflies, and more.
Drench Application:
Black vine weevils, Coleoptera grubs, Lepidoptera, thrips pupae, rootworms, wireworms, and more.
APPLICATION RATES
Foliar: 14 to 28 oz. of product per 100 gallons of water, depending on the pest and frequency.
Drench: 14 to 28 oz. of product per 100 gallons of water. Apply to moderately moist soils using sufficient water to wet the soil without runoff.
TANK MIXING
Ensure compatibility of tank mix partners by mixing small amounts in a clear jar before large tank mixing. ANCORA is compatible with most pesticides and copper-based fungicides but should not be mixed with other fungicides or applied within 5 days of non-copper fungicides.
CHEMIGATION
ANCORA can be applied through drip, sprinkler, flood, furrow, or border irrigation systems.
FOLIAR APPLICATION PROGRAM
Repeat foliar sprays at 3 to 5-day intervals if necessary. ANCORA is effective when combined with other compatible insecticides and fungicides for a comprehensive pest control program.
DRENCH APPLICATION PROGRAM
Drench applications target soil-inhabiting insect pests like thrips pupae. Use 14 to 28 oz. of product per 100 gallons of water and apply at recommended rates per pot size.
